The sign in the pictures below clearly indicate the dissatisfaction of at least one Verizon Wireless customer.
While many major markets have enjoyed upgrades to the new 4G system, the small outstate markets lag far behind.
One might think that all areas have 3G coverage. However, the small rural Minnesota farm community where I found this sign (thanks to a tip from my Wife) is not lucky enough to be serviced by a 3G tower. It is unfortunate for the residents in the area that the tower located not two miles out of town is a 1X tower. Not only is it a 1X signal, its a sad one or two bar 1X signal.
When a call is logged in to 611 at Verizon the caller is most often brushed aside. “I see no outages in your area. It’s odd you are having issues, there hasn’t been any other reports of trouble with a tower in your area.” But I will issue a ‘trouble ticket.'” Which, typically results in ‘there is no tower issue in fact the tower is fine.’
I am generally pleased with my Verizon service. However, there are days… I am fairly certain that all carriers ‘have their days.’
