Why add Twitter to my already busy life? Seriously. My life is busy enough with a wife, four kids, three dogs and three (this # fluctuates rapidly throughout the year) cats. Add to all of that the usual activities. Football, dance and Scouts. When do I have time for the “news?” Well I don’t.
However, I do have time to skip through the highlights and read those stories that are of interest.
A well written tweet can transmit a wealth of information in 140 characters making my day easier. Want to read more on the story? Click the link for the full details. Its simple. What was a simple news source has, for me, grown into a world wide network of contacts.
Twitter has become a source of entertainment much like Facebook has for many. The easy access from PC and smartphone makes tweeting from anywhere possible. There are a truckload of Twitter clients for PC and for each smartphone platform. The choices are seemingly endless. Though, like everything else, some are far better than others. I won’t make recommendations here. I will leave that to you to discover on your own.
This is a short list of reasons to use Twitter.
1. Microblogging. Tell the world about what ever, when ever, where ever you choose.
2. Get quick answers to anything from @answers
3. Keep up to date with the latest news.
4. Helpful outbursts. Someone just rained on your parade and your upset. Let it out. Vent. Its 140 characters. Short & sweet. Watch your language however.
5. Track your favorite sports teams.
6. Get multiple opinions on the latest whatever…
7. Twitter makes getting involved in politics simple. Just follow the right people.
