BlackBerry 6 Social Feeds & RSS

Use BlackBerry’s Social Feeds to help stay up to date with your favorite websites through RSS feed. As well as Facebook, BBM, and Google Talk.

Why not add the MyBBOTA.com RSS Feed to your Social Feeds? Its the fastest way to stay informed of new OTA’s on MyBBOTA.com

What the heck is RSS? More specifically, what’s an RSS feed? RSS is most commonly expanded as Really Simple Syndication is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated works—such as blog entries, news headlines, audio, and video—in a standardized format. An RSS document which is called a “feed.” (For more on RSS and my source look Here )

In order to view or read the RSS one must use what’s called a reader. BlackBerry 6 and its integral feed reader called Social Feeds is just one example of a reader.

The simplest method I’ve found to add a feed for a particular website is to browse to that website and click the menu button. You will most often see the option to “Subscribe to RSS Feeds.” If this option is not in your BlackBerry Menu, look for the RSS Feed icon and click on it. Or highlight it & copy the link and paste it into Social Feeds under add new feed.

Here’s a couple of smartphone/tech RSS feeds that I have in my Social feeds. Just copy these links and paste them into your Social Feeds or other RSS reader application.
