QBall45’s BlackBerry Tip Of The Day

I often receive Email that contain pictures that are embedded using HTML code. This is not an issue for viewing these images. However, until this morning it has been an issue for me when I wish to download and save these images on my BlackBerry. Prior to this morning I have just waited until I sat down at my PC to download and save ’em to my BlackBerry’s SD card. This method works great for those that have easy and frequent access to their PC. For those finding themselves always mobile the PC to SD card method is a small pain in the backside.

This morning I managed to figure out how to download embedded HTML images from emails on my BlackBerry. Its so simple I am left wondering why I hadn’t figured this out previously.

Open email>BlackBerry Menu>Get Plain Text>Click on the attachments at the top of the Email>Download Images

Your email is now plain text with image attachments. Simply click on the, attachment, select open image or download image whichever you wish to do. In my case I clicked download.

Another option is to change your email preferences. To change preferences for all email accounts on your BlackBerry follow these steps: Go to the message folder>BlackBerry Menu Button>Options>Email Preferences>Uncheck Enable HTML Email. This will result in your new Email showing as plain text when opened. The same process is followed to “Get” or download the images contained within the Email as listed above. Open Email>BlackBerry Menu>Get Plain Text>Click on the attachments at the top of the Email>Download Images

I hope you have found this tip useful.
