Veterans Day 11-11-10

From one vet to another, Happy Veterans Day.

Thanks for lacing up a pair of boots & grabbing your gear in service & defense of our great Nation. A selfless act of sacrifice for the Country we love so dear. In defense of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness you have chosen to serve. Without men and women like you, we would live in a completely different world than we do today. Forever, we shall be in your debt. Thank you.

Veterans Day is a day that we, as a Nation, take time to honor our veterans both living and dead. The day is marked with parades and other assorted festivities with the intent to honor our Veterans. I hope that you are able to partake in these festivities today. Do yourself a favor and make an effort to stop and thank the veterans you know as well as those you don’t.

The history lesson:
Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice.
President Woodrow Wilson first proclaimed an Armistice Day for November 11, 1919. The name was changed to Veterans Day in 1954.

It is my honor and privilege to stand up and salute my fellow veterans.
