Blowing a hydraulic hose on a food grade trailer happens on extreme rare occasion. The key to handling this is to know exactly what to do to get things immediately shut down before the mess gets too large.
As luck would have it on Thursday, the truck that had unloaded before I did was still on location. After a short explanation of my situation he turned his truck around and backed up to mine. I was able to unload my load by using the pump on the other trailer. Yes, this tied up the other truck and driver for the duration of my unload which caused him to be later than expected for his load appointment. However, with his help we were able to get the product delivered to the customer on time as expected.
