My New Toy

The Mrs and I have been talking about getting a boat for awhile now. Late last week we found one that appeared to have be worth a look. Fortunately, that deal didn’t happen. While we were camping this past weekend we spent some time sifting through the listing on Craigslist. After finding one we were more than interested in I made a call to the seller. Arrangements were made for a visit Saturday morning. The Mrs and I spent several hours Friday evening in serious discussion while we pondered on the “do we really want a boat” question. Saturday morning I got up early and chased an hour and a half to take a look at this boat.

Once I’d looked it over I made my decision. I wanted it. I knew it was older (1988) but it looked like it had been very well taken care of so I wasn’t afraid of its age. Once I arrived back to the campground we ate some lunch and then prepared to take the kids tubing.

After a long week on the road I really was looking forward to getting out on the lake for some relaxation. The boys went tubing for awhile and then I decided I wanted to get in the water myself. I refuse to ride a tube because I know how to ski. The funny thing is our youngest really didn’t want Daddy in the water were he couldn’t drive the boat. The Mrs wasn’t too sure if this ol fart could manage to get up on skis.

Truth be told it took half a dozen attempts to get up on the water. Partly due to having an inexperienced 14 year old driver and partly because it’d been 15 some odd years ago that I was last on skis. Can’t wait to go again.
